If you’re here, then you probably play games. On top of that, if you’ve ever listened to music, then you’ve probably heard of Queen. I could run the numbers and see what the odds are of you liking both, but rather than doing that–let’s just assume that you like both for this.

In my new series, dubbed “Little Bits”, I go over a handful of titles that have been influenced in some manner by the band Queen. From attack names in Guilty Gear, game titles on the SNES, to obscure PC games from the 90’s–you’re bound to at least say, “I didn’t know that” at least once throughout the episode.

Now, to be clear, I could have done this with a lot of bands since I included Guilty Gear–the mother of all rock references in video game form–but game developers just love Queen more apparently. I haven’t looked it up, but I would wager that, Queen is referenced more than any other rock band in video games. If you want to look it up, be my guest, but I’m telling you: the odds are in my favor.

Besides all of that, Queen is just awesome. If you ever want to see an amazing convert, watch their Wembley performance for the 1986 Live Aid. It’s not the whole thing, but you’ll get the idea. I’ll wait.

That’s a hell of a crowd. That’s one hell of a stage presence.
