A video review of 2016’s Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander. A retro-styled, Indie game featuring gameplay styles of base building, space sims, diplomacy and turn based RPG battles. The game developers took inspirations from numerous games like X-Com, Master of Orion, Civilization and Star Control 2. We take control of an abandoned alien starbase which gives us the power to build starships. Through this technology, we bring peace to the galaxy forcing neighboring aliens to stop fighting amongst each other. That is, until a new alien emerges and destroys our fleet! Now it’s up to us to rebuild our fleet, by gathering resources, unlocking new technology at the starbase, forming alliances with the aliens, and standing up to the new threat head on.
