Fans of unique, interesting games and South Park aficionados alike are licking their lips with anticipation over the upcoming release of South Park: The Fractured but Whole game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The RPG from Ubisoft is the sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, and is written by the television series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The 2014 game received excellent reviews, including a score of 9/10 from respected games review site IGN. Needless to say, there are high hopes for the October 17 release.

Ubisoft has promised that the new installment to the South Park games franchise will be “cruder and more complex” than its predecessor. As seen in the preview at E3 2017, in addition to the open world elements of the last one, there will be numerous mini games that would certainly not be safe for work, along with upgraded fight mechanics and more varied character choice. For example, in The Stick of Truth, players were only able to choose between four character types at the start of the game. These were: Fighter, Thief, Mage, and The Jew, who specialised in “Jew-jitsu.” The new game follows on from the previous one in the same location, but this time the characters are all superheroes. Players can choose between twelve classes of superhero which are: Brutalist, Blaster, Speedster, Elementalist, Gadgeteer, Mystic, Cyborg, Psychic, Assassin, Commander, Netherborn, and Karate Kid.

The lovable, hilarious characters of the animated comedy which has been running on Comedy Central since 1997 have continuously translated well to games throughout their long history. Before the Ubisoft games there were a number of other titles for various platforms. Soon after the series gained worldwide popularity Acclaim Entertainment released a first-person shooter called South Park for PC, Nintendo 64, and PlayStation. The company followed that 1998 release with South Park: Chef’s Luv Shack in 1999, and South Park Rally in 2000.

In addition to those titles, there were a couple of South Park games for the Xbox Live Arcade called South Park: Let’s Go Tower Defense Play and South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge.

More recently, the characters have also been immortalised in a brilliantly funny slot machine title at 888casino which features Eric, Stan, Kyle, and Cartman. Those who want to have a laugh while also trying to win money can sign up through this list of Canadian online casino games sites to claim a bonus of up to $2,388.

There is a chance that the upcoming Ubisoft offering could be the best South Park game yet, seeing as the developers have the most up-to-date technology available and advanced platforms to play it on. The minimum requirements for PC players for The Fractured but Whole are an Intel Core i5 2400 and AMD FX 4320 or equivalent, indicating that the graphics and game quality are going to be second to none. With other cool notations, including the fact that the main characters are splintered into two groups at the start of the game, that October 17 release date can’t come quickly enough.
